HUMBLE BEGINNINGS
Dust Studios LA began with one small space, a big dream, and a few C stands and sandbags.
Founded by Mario Sanchez, a first generation Mexican-American raised in a family defined by passion and a strong work ethic. Dust was built from firsthand experience. Mario started in the photo industry at 17, as a photo assistant. He built his career across fashion and commercial productions as both a photographer and key photo assistant. Those early years gave him an understanding of what happens on both sides of the camera and what creative teams need to do their best work.
That experience became the foundation of Dust: a deep respect for the craft, genuine care for the people behind it, and a commitment to providing the kind of thoughtful, dependable service its founder valued throughout his own career.
Dust started as a boutique studio, intentionally small and hands on. As the needs of our clients grew, we grew alongside them.

Dust started as a boutique studio, intentionally small and hands on. As the needs of our clients grew, we grew alongside them.
One studio became five. A few pieces of equipment became a fully stocked in house Equipment Room. Our services expanded to include lighting, grip, production supplies, and Sprinter/Truck rentals for productions heading on location.
Today, Dust is a 16,000 square foot creative home in Hollywood built to support productions from the first load into the final wrap.
But the most important part of that growth is the people.
The original vision is now supported by a carefully selected team of individuals who bring their own knowledge, experience, and talents to Dust. Every member of our team contributes to the experience we want our guests to have: knowledgeable support, personal attention, dependable service, and people who genuinely care and understand the demands of a production day.
Whether you’re here for a personal project, editorial, commercial shoot, or major campaign, our goal remains remarkably close to where we started: help you arrive prepared, feel supported, and focus on making great work.
